How To Download Premiere Pro 2020

In this post I’m going to show you how you can download Premiere Pro!

The first thing we’ll need to do is head on over to Adobe.com, and create an account if you don’t already have one. So I’m going to sign into my account really quickly. Now Premiere Pro if you didn’t know, is made by a company called Adobe, and they’re the same company that makes programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects, and a TON of other stuff. Adobe is a huge leader in the creative space, and I’ve been using their products for years and I honestly don’t know what I’d do without all their programs.

So once you’ve got an account created, and signing up to create an account is totally free by the way. Now we’re going to go over to the top part of the navigation bar and select creativity and design. In the featured products section, there’s an option to select Premiere Pro, so I’m going to click on that. Now this takes us to a landing page that gives a lot of background information on Premiere Pro, what it is, what it does, and that sort of thing. So if you’re reading this post, you’re more than likely well aware that it’s a video editing program so I’m not going to spend too much time on this page, but if you want to check out all the features on the program then you spend some time looking through all of this. 

What I want to show you guys next is, if I scroll down to the bottom of this page it gives us different payment options. So the first option here is you can buy Premiere Pro for a monthly fee, and that includes Premiere Rush which I’ll get to in a moment. The second option, and this is what I have, is you can buy the entire creative suite from Adobe which is all of their products. And then if you’re a student or a teacher, you can possibly get a discount on Premiere Pro or any of the other creative programs from Adobe. So that might be something to look into. The last option here is for businesses, and this would be for something like, let’s say I have a team of ten other people who needed to use Premiere Pro. I can buy a business licence and let them use my Premiere Pro licence , and that way they don’t all have to buy their own separately. But right now, I’m going to select SEE all plans underneath these options.

Now I’m going to find Premiere Pro, and select see plans and pricing. So in this new window you’ll see there’s options to purchase Premiere Pro annually for just under $21 a month. So you’d be locked into keeping Premiere for an entire year, and you’d pay 20.99 a month. Or you can do a pre paid annual plan of $239.88 per year. Or the third option is to go month to month, and pay $31.49, and I’d only choose this plan if you know FOR SURE that you’re only going to use Premiere for a few months and not an entire year. Otherwise I’d go with the first option, if you’re looking to pay month to month. 

The program comes with 100 gb of cloud storage, and Premiere Rush which is a smaller version of Premiere Pro, mostly aimed for mobile editing of videos or simple projects that you’d post on social media. You can also buy Rush separately from Premiere, if you want to possibly try that out first before buying Premiere Pro. 

It also comes with Adobe Portfolio which is a website design program where you can create a portfolio site for your videos. Adobe Fonts also comes with it, where you can search for different font faces and type kits and use them within Premiere. And then there’s Adobe Spark, which kind of like Rush, is aimed at mobile and social media videos, but it’s primary focus is on creating simple animations and motion graphics.

So from this point you can select the payment plan you want, and click buy now, and then you’ll get a payment page where you can fill out your details. For me, since I already have this program there’s actually a warning that came up alerting me to the fact I already have this program in my account. So that’s a pretty cool feature, that makes sure I don’t buy something that I already own. 

Once you complete the payment, you’ll be taken to a download page where you can download the program from the website. But I also want to show you where to find the program on the site, in case you need to download it again for some reason or possibly reinstall it. If I go up to the top right of the page, and click on my account photo, and then click on view account. It will take me to a page that has all my details about what programs I own. So in the middle of the page, there’s a link to “download all apps”. Next, is the page with all my programs and the first section are the programs that I’ve already downloaded and installed. So I can see that Premiere is already installed, but if it wasn’t I could scroll down to the next section and find it in the available subscription area.

Since I’m fortunate enough to have the entire creative suite, I have access to all these programs. For me, I don’t need them all installed on my hard drive since it would take up a decent amount of space, and I can always come back here if I need to download anything. The other cool thing is, there’s icons next to each program that tells you if you can use it on a desktop or on a mobile device. So Premiere can only be used on a desktop, but Rush can be used on both a desktop and mobile device.

So there’s ONE more thing I want to show you guys, and that is the creative cloud app. If I go to the top left of this page, and click home, it will take me to my creative cloud page that has some of my files uploaded to the Adobe cloud as well as learning materials about the programs. But the thing I want to use is the creative cloud app, which is towards the top of the page, and there’s a link that says install creative cloud app. 

So I’m going to close out my browser and open up the app on my desktop. And what this is, is a desktop app that will update your programs when a new release or version comes out. So if I go over to the updates, you’ll see my programs are all up to date and there’s nothing here. But if something needs to be updated, I can set it so that Adobe automatically checks and updates the programs when new releases come out. It’s also a place where I can download, or reinstall any of the other programs as well. And the app basically has all the same features that we saw on the website, just in this convenient app.
