Concealed Update: TripleHead2Go
11/23/11 - As we’ve been filming different scenes, we’ve been testing out rendered footage into Quartz Composer (as seen in the video below). Early on we were having issues with using multiple video cards and threading the video through the three monitors. The frame rates kept dropping off, but we figured out if we use a special threading device called “TripleHead2Go” which allows for the three monitors to be plugged into one device, it will solve our frame rate issue.
Concealed Update: QC
10/10/11 - We are in the production process right now, but we’ve also been testing our footage in Quartz Composer. The program allows us to create the interactivity for the user, so when the audience watches the film they can scroll left to right. This video above features the process of making the interactive audio and visual components to the project.
Concealed 360
07/25/11 - Just wanted to share a video from my up coming thesis project. It’s called “Concealed 360” and it’s an interactive film that will be shot with multiple cameras which will provide a full 360 degree view of every scene. The viewer can control or “direct” where the camera’s view point is and watch scenes from multiple angles. I’ll post more updates as the project progresses.
Updated LA Photos

06/18/11 - Last year I posted a series of photos from Los Angeles, my home of homes. I recently visited the city again, and took some new photos to add to the collection. Click through the photos page on my portfolio to see more!
Arduino Rainstick
05/15/11 - Above is a video I created for a school project. My group created an interactive rainstick game using arduino boards. The user can tilt the stick back and forth to create virtual rain on the screen and “save” the rainforest.
Video Vault Media
04/20/11 - I just wanted to share my blog/website that focuses on the development of interactive media in film, and video. “Video Vault Media” was created by myself, Nick Strayer, and Cindy Maram. The site is regularly updated with new videos everyday, and also features “how-to” resources of the amateur filmmaker. We hope that it will be place for people who are curious about the next phases in interactive media to learn about all of the exciting new developments in the field. Hope you enjoy!
That’s all for now…

San Francisco Photos
03/22/11 - Spring break is here finally, so I had some time to visit downtown San Francisco with my brother. I took some photos which you can see on the main page as of now, or you can visit the photography cities page in the portfolio section. There is a new video up as well, “Arduino Rainstick” which details background information on a final project for last quarter. The website design section is also up and running now, so feel free to check that out. I’m looking forward to starting my thesis work next quarter, so you’ll probably be seeing more of that coming soon. That’s all for now…

Alan Turing Video
02/18/11 - I’ve added a few more pages to the site, like “Current Projects”. The page is pretty self explanatory, you can see what I’m up to as of now. I’ve also uploaded a video that I made for my graduate studies, a short biography of Alan Turing. You can view it above, or in the films section of my portfolio page. I’m working updating pages, like the “Web Site Designs” page that’s currently under construction. Hopefully I’ll have that up and running soon.

New Year, New Site
01/03/11 - Welcome to the brand new scottedwardfowler.com! A lot has changed, and hopefully the new layout is a lot cooler to navigate around than the old site. You can check out all the new links, and let me know what you think by leaving a comment in the “Ask me a question” section.
Thanks!
